A steering group of partners was established to drive the Berwick’s Future initiative. They are:

Berwick-upon-Tweed Borough Council invests around £16.3 million a year in a wide range of services for the 26,000 people who live in the borough and the 1,324 businesses which operate from within its boundaries.
At the centre is the historic old town of Berwick with its listed buildings and ancient monuments, surrounded by 370 square miles of countryside.
The council’s mission statement is that the borough of Berwick should be:

a venue that stimulates and refreshes
a location that propagates success”
Berwick Community Development Trust is an independent local charity working to regenerate and develop the town for benefit of residents. It is one of over 350 Development Trusts in the UK which are:
• Established by local communities to cultivate enterprise, build assets and secure community prosperity.
• Engaged in the economic, environmental and social regeneration of a defined area.
• Independent, self sufficient - or aiming for self-sufficiency - and not for private profit.
• Community based, owned and managed.
• Actively involved in partnerships and alliances between the community, voluntary, private and public sectors.
Berwick Local Strategic Partnership is a multi organisational partnership drawn from a wide range of private, public and voluntary sector groups. The strategic vision is to ensure that Berwick Borough is a place where:
• People can live healthy, active and fulfilling lives as part of vibrant and strong communities.
• High quality businesses can prosper and local people have the confidence and skills to access the choice of jobs that they offer.
• The natural and built environment is valued, considered, enhanced and promoted.
• People can access the homes they want in attractive and safe neighbourhoods.
English Heritage exists to protect and promote England's spectacular historic environment and ensure that its past is researched and understood. It is the Government's statutory adviser on the historic environment.
Government Office North East represents eleven central Government departments across North East England. It works to deliver, influence and develop programmes and initiatives at a regional and local level, by working in partnership with relevant organisations to meet local needs.![]()
Northumberland County Council is the largest single employer in the county with 13,500 staff providing services such as education, waste management, social care, libraries and the fire and rescue service for almost 310,000 people. It is the sixth largest of all English counties, covering almost two thousand square miles, but has one of the lowest populations. Northumberland Strategic Partnership seeks to co-ordinate the efforts of all organisations with an interest in the regeneration of Northumberland, helping to ensure that the economic, social and environmental needs of the county are achieved.
