Based on the Gillespie’s master plan and the comments provided by local people, regeneration experts Urban Initiatives carried out further detailed investigations to produce a regeneration strategy.
This has distilled the options for redevelopment and regeneration to those which the consultants think are likely to provide the biggest benefits.
Some projects suggested are very ambitious and would require a great deal of time, work and planning to deliver. Others will be achievable in much shorter timescales. As with any regeneration programme, this will be a long term project.
A programme to present and explain the consultants' recommended regeneration strategy and its proposals to businesses, organisations and the community will take place during late May and June 2008. A timetable provides details of dates, times and venues.
Berwick’s Future partners will consider all comments made on the proposals in drawing up an action plan, setting out which specific proposals will be taken forward and how they will be delivered.
