The first new offices in Berwick town centre for 20 years are almost ready for business.
Occupants of the Berwick Workspace will soon be taking advantage of the business support and state of the art accommodation.
Units of between 10 and 55 sq. metres are being provided for over 30 new and existing businesses looking to grow in the town and the project will make a major contribution to the overall regeneration of the town and Borough.
Calum Duncan, of Malcolm Fraser Architects, is the man responsible for designing the Workspace. He said: “This can have a hugely positive effect on Berwick, showing it is not only a beautiful and historic town but busy and well connected too. I hope this new facility can persuade people to set up business here.”
John Hamilton, the County Council’s Economic Development Officer and Project Director for the Workspace, said “We hope that businesses will now take advantage of the facilities and services it will offer to grow on and increase business activity in Berwick and Berwickshire.”
In addition to the office space provided, Berwick Workspace will also house meeting, conference and hot desk facilities available for tenants and for hire to other organisations and community groups in the town.
The Tyneside Economic Development Company (TEDCO) will be responsible for managing the venture and a business development manager will be based there. The TEDCO telephone number is 0845 602 2466 the web site is www.tedco.org and requests for information can be sent to enquire@tedco.org
